Embark on a transformative quest at our Art of Liberty Horsemanship retreat in Kazakhstan this September 2025.
During a long weekend we invite horse lovers to dive deep into the art of liberty communication with horses.

Overlooking the city of Almaty, at the foot of the mountains, lies Chamberlain Country Club, home to 50 horses of all breeds living in a paddock paradise with exceptional facilities designed for both the well-being of the horses and the comfort of the human guests.

You'll learn a completely new way of working with horses and how to build a profound connection with these majestic animals.

The art of liberty horsemanship is achieved through combining natural horsemanship techniques with meditation, self awareness and leadership coaching at a truly unique equestrian facility.

Thursday 18 September	Flight to Almaty (Flights not included in the package. Recommended if coming from UAE: AirArabia from Sharjah landing at 15.00 in Almaty) Airport transfer to Chamberlain Country Club (45 min drive) Tour of the huge premises and introduction to the Paddock Paradise system Welcome Dinner
Friday 19 September	Breakfast and Welcome Meeting Grounding / Breathing activities and meeting the free horses in their paddock paradise, sharing territory, and becoming part of the herd. Letting go of the mind and turning into feeling Theory and Introduction to the liberty work at Chamberlain Country Club as well as the basics of positive reinforcement training Demonstration from Chamberlain Club Team on what is possible in liberty horsemanship Lunch and break time / reflections Leading activities in the arena with and without rope - theory about the basics of body language and clear intentions in communication, practice in small groups with multiple horses Video analysis and Dinner
Saturday 20 September	Walking morning sunrise Meditation in the paddock paradise park followed by breakfast Picadero work: Practicing distance and nearness / trust and respect Theory about horse anatomy and the correct movement of a horse in the classroom Lunch and break time / reflections Practicing the correct movement of the horse - mix of demonstration by Chamberlain trainers on how to get the correct bend and action, how to achieve shifting weight on the hindquarters, and practicing this with and without rope Dinner and bonfire
Sunday 21 September	Morning Meditation followed by Breakfast Move the herd - feel the energy of a herd in motion and hear the thundering hooves Together creating an obstacle course that is fun for the horse as well as engaging the right muscles. Playing with the horses around these obstacles. Talks and demonstrations around trick training and how to start these tricks with your own horse Lunch Having fun with the horses in the Western Trail - with or without rope depending on confidence level Applying Liberty to Life & Leadership – Reflecting on personal leadership, relationships, and communication Sharing and closing circle
Monday 22 September	We will either take you to the airport for your return flight, or feel free to extend your stay, see Almaty and explore the beautiful nature of Kazakhstan - it is a vast country and there is lots to discover!

This equestrian facility is a state-of-the-art center unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
But what truly sets it apart isn’t just the facilities. It’s the founder Marina Bukanova's vision:

🐎 50 horses of all breeds - and none of them are ridden.
👁️ All interactions happen at eye level, built on mutual respect.
🌿 Horses live in herds, free to socialize, move naturally, and teach humans about leadership, connection, and harmony.

Her philosophy deeply resonates with our work. I know Marina because like me, she is a Licensed Partner for HorseDream, offering corporate leadership training with horses, and she had hosted our yearly conference in March 2019. 

Apart from the corporate workshops, Chamberlain Country Club specializes in natural horsemanship, personal development, and a wide range of events—from children’s camps to weddings and corporate gatherings.

The club features:

• A paddock paradise system where horses live in herds, moving freely around a landscaped green park.
• A 70x30m indoor arena built to Olympic standards, featuring heating, screens, projectors, and seating for up to 300 spectators.
• Two large outdoor arenas (130x70m and 25x40m), several paddocks, and a covered round pen
• A fully equipped Western arena styled like a Wild West town, complete with themed obstacles, including a maze.
• World-class leisure amenities: a football field, tennis court, gym, spa, and swimming pool.
• Onsite accommodation, a café, bar, conference hall, and facilities to host professional events for any group.

None of the horses are ridden!
Marina and her team believe in a respectful interaction with these majestic animals, and they teach guests how to build a friendship with the horse that is entirely based on trust and understanding.

Right next to the horses Chamberlain Country Club has several apartments where you can choose to stay in a private room with shared living space and shared bathrooms - full rate including all meals, programs, airport transfer and 4 nights stay is 7,900 AED.

Alternatively, you can book a capsule at the newly opened Zvezdnaya Eco-Hotel which is literally next door (2 min walk) and pay only for the program and meals at the stables (6,000 AED).

We will take all meals together - breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks - in the lovely and light infused cafe right next to the horses.

You will feel just at home in this fantastic facility, whichever option you choose.

The price for the Art of Liberty Horsemanship weekend depends on your choice of accommodation:

This includes all meals, airport transfers in Almaty, work with the horses etc.

If you come from the United Arab Emirates, we recommend booking AirArabia from Sharjah due to timings that suit with our program. Have a look here for details on the flight. 
If you join from other countries, try and find flights that are Thursday afternoon / evening and leave on Monday, or simply stay a few days longer. Explore Almaty, the cultural heart of Kazakhstan, and home to Shymbulak Ski Resort, or drive further. 
Kazakhstan boasts a diverse and majestic landscape, from sweeping golden steppes and vast deserts to soaring snow-capped mountains and serene alpine lakes. This dramatic scenery is to this day home to wild horses, endless horizons, and untouched wilderness perfect for adventure and reflection.
